Matthew 28:19

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Welcome to the Rise Student Ministry Page!

We want to do as Jesus did in His life which was LOVE and WELCOME everyone. We are so excited you are interested in our program!

Our goal as a ministry is to live like Jesus. We know that none of us are perfect and we come from all walks of life. Broken, have made many mistakes, not grown up in church, life long members, lived a pretty easy life…you name it, someone in our group has lived it. However, though we all come from different backgrounds, we have all come to agree that we can’t seem to get this life figured out on our own. In “Rise Ministry” we teach and direct our students to realize that the one thing that has remained the same over time is God and the scripture he gave to His people. We gather every Sunday and Wednesday to learn more about our God and how to live our daily life to glorify Him.

Our view is we believe in one God. The “Holy Trinity”: God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Though we gather in a church to fellowship and learn more about Jesus we realize that the true church is not a building. The “Church” is each believer living out there life for Christ. So we invite you along on our journey to get to know the life of Jesus and see why we all need a redeeming savior to rebuild us and restore us to a better creation, while honoring Him.

Sunday Morning: Main worship service 8:30 & 11:00

Sunday School: 9:45-10:45 in the student room

Wednesday Worship: 6:00-7:30pm in the  student room.

On Sunday mornings we cover an array of topics. We go over particular parts of scripture and the events of both the Old Testament and New Testament.  We also do apologetic studies to equip and prepare students to defend their faith. We go back and forth because we want the students to not just know Scripture and trust it, but also to know that it is true and alive. In this day in age the world is changing and what may be true today may not be tomorrow, but when we place our faith in the constant word of God, we always have a stable truth in life. Also by doing this we meet the needs of long time believers, new believers, and those who haven’t chosen what they believe in yet. Come join us to see why we are after the truth of Jesus and what He has called us to do.

Throughout the year we do numerous events all centered on having a ton of fun, serving others, and growing in our faith in Jesus. The reason we do this is because the basis of Christianity is to live like Jesus. Matthew 22:37-39 “Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love your Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it. You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'”

We as RISE Student ministry want to follow Jesus in His teachings with everything we do. Neglecting no one regardless how they act, look, mistakes they have made, nor what life has brought them. We all are in need of a Savior to lead us to a better life. What better life is there than to love everyone and direct them to a redeemer who can allow them a love and completeness like they have never known?

This event is set for August 19th from 6:15-8:30pm at 1507 South 2nd St, Clinton,MO. Food, fellowship and fun, come join us!!!

September One Day

In sept as the leaves are falling and we are moving into the fall weather we as a student ministry go into our community and help out. Sometimes it’s cleaning yards, sometimes its serving others at a local establishment, or maybe even just helping out a few people with some around the house chores. Regardless our point of the “One Day” is to get out in our community and be seen. Seen not so much as our church, or look at us, but a reminder to others that they’re people in this world that just want to help and show the light of Christ as he gets the glory in everything we do. Date will be a Saturday, however exact date is unknown do to me the student pastor as we are expecting our first born mid-September. Looking forward to meeting you in our community and making an impact!

October Progressive/Bonfire

Every fall we lean to 1 direction or another and do a progressive diner and bonfire to fellowship. However this year  October 7th at 6pm we are putting a spin on it and doing a combo event. We will do a progressive dinner start where we go to homes for different meals to fellowship with the home owners and hear a testimony or encouraging word and the bonfire we do a hay ride and/or food and have a short sermon as we enjoy the fire and s’mores! These two events are always a big hit for the students so definitely don’t miss out!

November D-Now

D-Now will be on November 6th-8th. It’s a weekend where the students get to put the world on hold for 2 and half days and really dive into Gods word. They get to hear great sermons, deep devotions, personal small group discussions and have an incredible blast all wrapped up into one weekend. Out of all the events we do D-now is the most requested and sought after event we do, because the student learn so much and have so much fun doing it. The students get to interact with each other in a group setting, gender specifics and even down to grade level discussion about life and what it supposed to look like to trust and follow God. Make sure to get signed up for this event because you won’t want to miss it!

December ARK Night

Acts of Random Kindness. December for many is one of the best times of the year, but for some its not. Our students have decided to go out in our community and make random acts of kindness not be so random. We want to build up our community and help people with simple or big things going on in their day to day life. Opening a door , loading a car, carrying an item, cleaning something dirty. Our whole point is to make a presence in our community and pray with each person we come in contact with and let them know they are loved and cared for. After this we will end with a desert fun party to wrap it. If you want to see God move definitely don’t miss this ARK night as it will be one to be remembered!

Definitely feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or would like to just visit to get to know each other better!!!

Our belief at FBC RISE is that every member is a minister. Being that we don’t want to just teach the students how to live, but truly allow them to put that into action by leading themselves and their peers. Our leadership team is comprised of 7th- 12th grade. We teach our team to welcome, disciple, plan events, and follow up with other students etc. We want our leaders to grow in all areas of their life so they can come to realize that God is and can be in all parts. During the course of the year we do something specific for the leadership team to help them stay excited about their faith and leading others to know Christ more. If you or your student are interested in leading in any way, definitely reach out. Lets see how they can come along beside us and others and help grow God’s ministry!

Pulse is open to all students who are interested in using their musical talents to worship God.  During our rehearsals the group works on music to lead for Wednesday night youth and some Sunday mornings.  The group is also preparing for a tour and leading worship at a summer camp in July. Rehearsals are Sundays at 5pm

My wife, Brandee and I accepted the call to Clinton, in May of 2018. It has been an honor to be invited onto the staff here at FBC Clinton. The staff and members of FBC are incredible and I am so thankful that God allowed us to come here. My incredible wife is a licensed RN and has worked in multiple levels from surgery to Neuro ICU and critical care. She received her BSN degree from University of Arkansas for Medical Science.

I grew up playing baseball and went on to play division one  at the University of Monroe, LA. I finished my degree at Texas A&M, Texarkana, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a minor in sociology and criminal justice. We are original from Texarkana, TX, but have lived in Tyler,Tx for the past four years. During this time we both felt the call from God to enter ministry.

Brandee and I both love the outdoors. We enjoy hiking, fishing, hunting and being outside with our two labs, Rhage and Daizy! We met in high school and began dating when she was a freshman and I was a  junior. We have been happily married since 2012.
