Matthew 28:19

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Welcome to the Rise Student Ministry Page!

We want to do as Jesus did in His life which was LOVE and WELCOME everyone. We are so excited you are interested in our program!

Our goal as a ministry is to live like Jesus. We know that none of us are perfect and we come from all walks of life. Broken, have made many mistakes, not grown up in church, life long members, lived a pretty easy life…you name it, someone in our group has lived it. However, though we all come from different backgrounds, we have all come to agree that we can’t seem to get this life figured out on our own. In “Rise Ministry” we teach and direct our students to realize that the one thing that has remained the same over time is God and the scripture he gave to His people. We gather every Sunday and Wednesday to learn more about our God and how to live our daily life to glorify Him.

Our view is we believe in one God. The “Holy Trinity”: God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Though we gather in a church to fellowship and learn more about Jesus we realize that the true church is not a building. The “Church” is each believer living out there life for Christ. So we invite you along on our journey to get to know the life of Jesus and see why we all need a redeeming savior to rebuild us and restore us to a better creation, while honoring Him.

WELCOME TO RISE STUDENT MINISTRY!!!

Sunday Morning: Main worship service 8:30 & 11:00

Sunday School: 9:45-10:45 in the student room

Wednesday Worship: 6:00-7:30pm in the  student room.

On Sunday mornings we cover an array of topics. We go over particular parts of scripture and the events of both the Old Testament and New Testament.  We also do apologetic studies to equip and prepare students to defend their faith. We go back and forth because we want the students to not just know Scripture and trust it, but also to know that it is true and alive. In this day in age the world is changing and what may be true today may not be tomorrow, but when we place our faith in the constant word of God, we always have a stable truth in life. Also by doing this we meet the needs of long time believers, new believers, and those who haven’t chosen what they believe in yet. Come join us to see why we are after the truth of Jesus and what He has called us to do.

Throughout the year we do numerous events all centered on having a ton of fun, serving others, and growing in our faith in Jesus. The reason we do this is because the basis of Christianity is to live like Jesus. Matthew 22:37-39 “Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love your Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it. You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'”

We as RISE Student ministry want to follow Jesus in His teachings with everything we do. Neglecting no one regardless how they act, look, mistakes they have made, nor what life has brought them. We all are in need of a Savior to lead us to a better life. What better life is there than to love everyone and direct them to a redeemer who can allow them a love and completeness like they have never known?

Upcoming Events:

“Young Christian Weekend” April 3rd-5th

End of School Bash May 20th

“Mission 58” June 14th-19th

Back to School Bash August TBD

Tuesday/Thursday Summer Fun Days

YCW is a weekend where the student ministry goes to Branson for a weekend full of concerts, biblical teachings and fun at Silver Dollar City. We leave at 4pm on Friday the 3rd and plan to return the 5th that Sunday at 5:30pm. This is definitely one of the most requested events of the year, don’t miss out!

End of the year BASH. Normally every year we try to end the School year with a bang and we will do the same this year. We normally get the grills out and have a big cookout and swim and start the fun early for the Sumer. Date for this is May 20th pending schools final days.

The “Mission58” Motto

“Isaiah 58:10-14”

Mission 58 exists to see students engaging the culture with the Gospel. On the week of camp, we will be doing exactly that. Morning sessions will consist of a time of worship, teaching and small groups. Students will then be able to encounter what God is doing in and through the nations by sitting down with different mission groups and missionaries. We will then depart to put “boots on the ground” and serve the local community.

Back to school BASH

We will have a BIG get together to say goodbye to longer summer days of freedom and students start the fall school as they go back and learn to better our country and pursue opportunities to share there faith with their classmates. We normally do a fun afternoon of food and games that help us grow our community and get to know one another. (This date will determine on the start of school)

Tuesday/Thursday

During the Summer we start back with our weekly events. This gives students a way to have a lot of fun in the summer and stay connected more. We as a student ministry go every other Tuesday somewhere like water park, bowling, lake day etc. On Thursdays we stay in Clinton and just have a local hangout place we meet up for fun like sonic, the park or maybe at the movie theaters. This is an awesome way for us to get to know each other outside of the church yet allows us to fellowship with people who regularly attend church and those who don’t to see how as a ministry and a church that we just want to love everyone in a growing relationship with Jesus.

Definitely feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or would like to just visit to get to know us better!!!

Our belief at FBC RISE is that every member is a minister. Being that we don’t want to just teach the students how to live, but truly allow them to put that into action by leading themselves and their peers. Our leadership team is comprised of 7th- 12th grade. We teach our team to welcome, disciple, plan events, and follow up with other students etc. We want our leaders to grow in all areas of their life so they can come to realize that God is and can be in all parts. During the course of the year we do something specific for the leadership team to help them stay excited about their faith and leading others to know Christ more. If you or your student are interested in leading in any way, definitely reach out. Lets see how they can come along beside us and others and help grow God’s ministry!

Pulse is open to all students who are interested in using their musical talents to worship God.  During our rehearsals the group works on music to lead for Wednesday night youth and some Sunday mornings.  The group is also preparing for a tour and leading worship at a summer camp in July. Rehearsals are Sundays at 5pm

My wife, Brandee and I accepted the call to Clinton, in May of 2018. It has been an honor to be invited onto the staff here at FBC Clinton. The staff and members of FBC are incredible and I am so thankful that God allowed us to come here. My incredible wife is a licensed RN and has worked in multiple levels from surgery to Neuro ICU and critical care. She received her BSN degree from University of Arkansas for Medical Science.

I grew up playing baseball and went on to play division one  at the University of Monroe, LA. I finished my degree at Texas A&M, Texarkana, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a minor in sociology and criminal justice. We are original from Texarkana, TX, but have lived in Tyler,Tx for the past four years. During this time we both felt the call from God to enter ministry.

Brandee and I both love the outdoors. We enjoy hiking, fishing, hunting and being outside with our two labs, Rhage and Daizy! We met in high school and began dating when she was a freshman and I was a  junior. We have been happily married since 2012.
