Memorial Day is considered the unofficial beginning of Summer and what a Summer it will be. The church calendar is filled with youth and children’s activities every week until school starts in August. Adults will have ample opportunity for mission involvement throughout the Summer. The activity of this Summer must be underpinned with prayer. When we pray for the mission of the church, we are involved in the mission. When we pray for youth and children’s ministries, we are involved in these ministries.
I remember reading years ago that “we can do nothing more than pray, until we have prayed.” I do not remember who gets credit for the thought, but that is not the point. The point is the first line of support for any ministry, just as it is the first line of defense against the evil one is prayer. We need your prayer support because the Summer schedule exceeds our ability and we are completely dependent upon God and your prayers to accomplish what is before us.
Once you have prayed there is more you can do. If you see something on the schedule that sparks your interest, just ask, “How can I help.” Both you and the ministry will be blessed.
Let’s all go to Kathmandu through our prayer support of the five women who have committed to go and help with the VBS for the North India Cluster conference.
I am really glad that God is giving me the opportunity to be pastor in a church that prays and serves!
