Acts 1:8 is a Bible verse and our Missions Directive Statement: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (HCSB).

ActsOne8 is name we have chosen for organizing our missions involvement. ActOne8 is led by a Global Outreach Team (GOT), which is made up of the leaders of our Jerusalem Team, Judea-Samaria Team, and Ends-of-the-Earth Team. These teams help keep us engaged in the mission of making disciples of our neighbors and the nations.

Through ActsOne8 missions is personalized. Missions is not what we do, it is who we are. Every member is a “missionary.” Each “missionary” uses his or her spiritual gifts, personality, and passion to engage in the mission of making disciples personally. Personal engagement takes many forms: prayer, hands on involvement in mission projects and trips locally and globally, and financial support. Mission action leads to mission vision.

Periodically we have an ActsOne8 Celebration. These celebrations rejoice in the global impact of our congregation, help us connect with missions and Missionaries personally, and give opportunity to renew our commitment to the mission of Jesus in the world. Our next celebration will be October 21-25, 2015.

Get your calendar, write ActsOne8 Celebration across October 21-25, and begin praying for God to work powerfully among us. I am really glad God has allowed me to experience Acts 1:8 and ActsOne8 with you.
