I am so thrilled to be called as the Children’s Minister of First Baptist Church Clinton! In my life I have always loved having the privilege of being part of the work God is doing. I believe that God can and does use children in a mighty way to further His kingdom. I received my call to ministry at the age of 9 at a G.A. camp in Maryland. I am originally from north Louisiana, but have ended up living in 5 different states and 3 different countries. Growing up, my family was always involved in Christian camping ministry. I’ve served as camper, camp counselor, camp director, worship leader, Bible study leader, nature class leader, summer staff, camp cook, and curriculum writer. I have 4 younger brothers, an awesome sister in law, 5 adorable nephews, and 1 incredible niece. I earned my B.A. in Religion from William Carey College (now University) in 2005, and began studying Church Music at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where I remained until 2008 when I felt God calling me to the mission field. In February 2009 I began serving as a journeyman missionary to Thessaloniki, Greece. I served there until late 2010. I spent my time in Greece building relationships, teaching MKs, and teaching ESL to refugees. I was so blessed to be a part of God’s work in Europe.
As far as hobbies go, I sometimes have to remind myself that I am a grown up! My youngest brother and I are pretty close, so we hang out as much as possible- usually doing Disney related activities. I am a kid at heart! I also enjoy singing, reading, and playing the ukulele. I love to travel and spend time with family- and if I’m lucky getting to watch a little football (go Saints!) Fun fact: although I may look small and innocent, I can be tough! In college I served as the assistant director of security for Christian concerts in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. I also played flag football in college and in seminary earning me the nicknames “killer” and “mad skills.” I can be extremely competitive, but that’s what having 4 brothers will do to you!
