    THE B.L.E.S.S. SERIES

At First Baptist Clinton, we encourage loving our neighbors by using the B.L.E.S.S. method. Each letter of B.L.E.S.S. represents a practical way of pointing our neighbors to Jesus.

    Begin with Prayer

Ask yourself, "Who are my neighbors?"

View and print the neighborhood map tool to figure out who your neighbors are.

    1. Write what you know about them.

    2. Ask what you don't.

    3. Pray for them.

  • 25.jpg

    Listen with Care

Blessing others begins with being a good listener. Apply the 4 Hs of good listening.

What do you know about their:

    • History: "Tell me your story." "Where did you grow up?"

    • Heart: "What's your favorite (team, restaurant, vacation destination)?"

    • Habits: "What do you like to do in your free time?"

    • Hurts: "How are you doing with (name of the situation)?"

  • 28.jpg

    Eat with Others

Use a meal calendar to schedule discipleship time with others.

There are up to 21 opportunities each week!

    Push through the excuses:

Bad cook? Go out to eat!

Don't know what to say? Just listen!

Don't have time? Eating is already on your schedule!

Low on funds? Grab a coffee!

    Serve with Love

How can you meet the needs of those around you?

What are their R.P.M.S. needs? How can you serve to fill in those gaps?

Relational: How is their relationship with their family?

Physical: How are they feeling overall?

Mental: Are there signs of anxiety or depression?

Spiritual: Do they display spiritual curiosity?

Luke 2:52: "Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men."

    Share Your Story

Write out the story of how Jesus changed your life.

Break it down in three parts:

    • My Life Before Jesus

    • How I Met Jesus

    • My Life Since Jesus

Before you begin, ask God for help, be yourself, keep it real (don't sugarcoat), and practice out loud.
